Poggiridenti
On 10 October 1929 the municipal resolution no. 235, ratified by the Prefecture of Sondrio April 21, 1930, the mayor Orsatti, assisted by the Secretary Bonomo, changes the name to the country.
We have analyzed the reason given in the classroom: a historical name a generic name has been replaced, banal according to some, though certainly cheerful.
We hit the pompous fascist rhetoric that up here celebrated the macho myth. . . (Read below for yourself!)
".. Considering that survey exhausted by the actual name of the town derives from an ancient family of De Pendolasco extinct since time immemorial and which no country in serbasi no memory.
Given that the name itself has no ethnic, geographic country.
The joint is placed in most agreeable position and with very mild climate even in winter, so much so that in that season in private gardens blooming flora of temperate regions.
Considering that the municipality has scheduled the execution of public works contracts (...) and therefore a name more responsive to the natural beauty of the country could benefit this development to become a health resort (...)
That the name of Pendolasco lends itself to improper interpretations contrary to the healthy youth of the country, and that the City recently expanded the territory, following the new national demographic impulse, it starts without better future.
All things considered, it is considered a sure advantage for this municipality to replace the current new name corresponding to the beauty of the landscape, the climate, the healthy and happy spirit of its population, and that encourages the stranger to visit and learn about the country, waves this may achieve progress for which favorable natural conditions can be received. Sure faith in the better future of the country that rests on three pleasant hills, laughing in the sun, of improved and higher crop rich, wrapped in sweet climate of very healthy air.
Resolution to abolish the name of Pendolasco and replace you to Poggiridenti "
Who knows if in the future of Poggiridenti population will feel the desire to reclaim the historical name!
