How to get to Livigno in winter?
Arriving from Italy except from Trentino, Veneto, Friuli and Emilia Romagna the most comfortable road is the SS38 that runs through the Valtellina coming from Lecco and then climb in altitude after Tirano towards Bormio and Passo Foscagno. Calculated 3½ hours, or 4 hours from Milan.
For those arriving from the North East Italian or from North and East Europe, the fastest way is through the Tunnel munt The Schera which is chargeable and leads directly into the village. The Tunnel is or Vinschgau, Monastery in Switzerland or from the Engadine along the Inn River route going up towards Passo del Forno.
Mandatory to have with them the snow chains or winter tires.
